Reverend Profiles

Rev. Eugene C. Larr, Minister, Chapel Co-Founder (Deceased)
Rev. Larr was practicing clairvoyant, clairaudient trance-medium since 1949. Early in his life he began the study and practice of Mahayana Buddhism. A few years later, following a tour of duty in the Navy, he was introduced to Spiritualism by Rev. Jean Bradley of St. Michael's Spiritual Church in Pasadena, California.
Rev. Larr also avidly pursued his academic goals in several areas of study, receiving doctorates in both Micro-Paleontology and Religious Science, with minor degrees in Astronomy and Astrophysics. Diverse as his academic training may seem, coupled with his religious study and practice, it has given him a broadly based and profound knowledge and understanding of the world we live in and Man's place in it. It is this knowledge and understanding, along with many years of experience, which Rev. Larr called upon in formulating the basic philosophy of the Chapel of Awareness Spiritual Church.

Rev. Don Schwartz, Ordained Healer, Chapel Co-Founder (no longer active)
Rev. Don served in the Air Force as a rocket mechanic at Edwards Air Force Base.  He has a very strong interest in ancient Egypt, has traveled there four times, and is aware of spending several lifetimes there. In addition to his work as an Ordained Healer, he is a world renown horse painter and has painted many of the world's finest race horses.

She began Chapel classes in 1975, went through the different stages of learning and teaching, and was ordained in 1987. She is currently the Pastor of the Chapel and her duties include teaching, counseling and conducting weddings, funerals, memorial services and baby blessings as well as seeing to the maintenance of the Chapel.
In 1990, she moved to Carlsbad and worked for three California state legislators assisting constituents with state concerns and doing field work in addition to her regular ministerial duties. While employed by the state, she attended Mira Costa College working towards her degree in psychology with an emphasis on counseling.
